Reflections on Greener Grass
Some of you may be wondering why I've posted a picture of SFB? This is quite possibly the coolest family picture ever. Salentine's were one among many visits we've been making the past few days. All of these joyful reunions are making it really hard not wanting to just move back. The grass truly is greener. When we were here, we couldn't wait to leave the suburbs and get on with our lives in professional ministry. But, being back we are finding ourselves missing some of the very things we decried while we were here - like strip malls and suburban conformism.
Of course, we mostly miss the people. We worshiped yesterday at our old church in the midst of so many people dear to us. And, the next few nights we are hanging out with Frank and Betsy, and many others. With that said, it's completely frustrating knowing that we're not going to be able to see many of our close friends while we are here. There's just not enough time. So, if there's anybody reading this whom we haven't been able to see, please know we do love you. It kills us that we haven't had enough time to see everyone.

No worries - I understand the craziness of whirlwindish trips home. I can't tell you how many people from Holland I haven't seen in years tho I go back 3-4 times a year... I'm assuming since I haven't heard from you that I'm one of the people you're dissing on this trip? :) It's all good - tho if you find yourself with nothing to do, and happen to simultaneously find yourself at the corner of Hawley and 60 in Mundelein around 7:00pm on Wednesday, I'm leading worship this week.... :)
(hint, hint)
Ummm ... perhaps you haven't seen this family photo ... http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1609/1296/1600/895788799305_0_ALB.jpg ...
Happy - yeah, you were one of the people we REALLY wanted to see, but couldn't. We miss you! Unfortunately, we'll be leaving Weds. morning. But, we'll be back, and we'll make sure to catch you next time.
